There are two types of TIMS cards Group Trekkers (GT) and Free Individual Trekkers (FIT). The cost of the Trekking Information Management System (TIMS) is (GT) 10$ and (FIT) 20$ per person and Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) is USD 30 per person.
To get the TIMS Card you need to visit the Trekkers Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) in Kathmandu.
To acquire the ACAP Permit, you have to go to the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or in Pokhara.
The main risk when traveling in the mountain is AMS or altitude sickness. The main reason of AMS is when your body can't adjust to high elevation, which can have fatal consequences. Therefore, it is very important to take appropriate measures in time. Ascending at the proper pace and having good acclimatization days, can reduce the AMS.
