The Annapurna

"Mt. Annapurna” is named after the Hindu goddess of food and nourishment. In addition to holding the goddess' name, Mt. Annapurna is also claimed as the home of the goddess Annapurna. In ancient literature, the meaning of the word Anna means “grains” and Purna means "fulfillment," which means “everlasting food."
Meanwhile, Annapurna stands as one of the eight thousanders, with a height of 8,091m above sea level. It is perhaps the 10th highest mountain in the world, well known as a difficult and dangerous mountain for climbers.
However, the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is the most famous and sold-out trek in Nepal. For trekkers, the trek to Annapurna is also an alternative to the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek. In comparison with the EBC, the Annapurna Base Camp trek is much cheaper and can be done in less time. Here is some more detailed information regarding accommodation and other facilities on the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek.

What type of Accommodation can we find in Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

Indeed, everyone's top priority when traveling is finding lodging, no matter where they go. Aside from that, it goes without saying that we want the nicest amenities we can find after hours of hiking with a heavy rucksack. In contrast, the more pleasantly you sleep when trekking, the more energy you'll have the following day.
What kind of lodging will you actually receive then? The accommodation options for the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and Annapurna Circuit treks are traditional tea house lodges. They are the most common accommodation along the trail. A hot shower and an internet connection may or may not be offered in this type of teahouse lodging.
Therefore, you need to be ready for the fact that it is difficult to find opulent comfort in the Himalayas. You must feel at ease and accept any kind of accommodation or services you may receive.

What is a tea house lodge and what facilities can we get there?

The tea house lodges are the guest houses or accommodation facilities that offer us basic lodging and meals along the trekking routes. Generally, tea house lodges are built of wood and stones, covering a small area. In contrast, these modest teahouse lodges give you a warm, comfortable room that is ideal in the frigid Himalayan environment.
Typically, the tea house lodges provide twin sharing rooms with two single beds in each. However, the price of the accommodation in Annapurna Base Camp trek is quite affordable. It is perhaps the houses of the locals who opened their doors to travelers to provide a place to stay. As a result, the cost of accommodation is influenced by the food you purchase rather than the bed.
Last but not least, keep in mind that finding a place to stay during the peak period could be a little challenging. Make sure to use your travel agent's assistance while making your reservations.

What type of food do we get in Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek?

The Himalayan trek in Nepal usually serves similar kinds of menus to every traveler. However, the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is the most well-known trek in Nepal. Perhaps you'll also find some additional meals on the menu.
Nevertheless, the foods are local organic foods, which give your body the power it needs after a strenuous day. Make sure you eat enough to refuel your body for the next day's hike.
Carrying water bottles is essential for the hike to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Since purchasing water bottles is not allowed, you will only be able to refill your existing bottle. Therefore, it's crucial to stay hydrated while trekking to prevent altitude sickness.

What does the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek provide for breakfast?

Breakfast is the first meal you consume in the morning, breaking the previous day's fast. It is dubbed the most important meal of the day because breakfast gives you energy and vigor throughout the day. Perhaps for your body to receive the energy it needs, your first meal must be nutritious and hygienic.
Similarly, when you trek all day, your body needs to build up a lot of stamina to walk for extended periods of time. Consequently, trekkers typically eat breakfast at 7 a.m., and the journey typically starts at around 8 a.m.
Therefore, on the Annapurna Base Camp trek, you will find some variations in the breakfast and food menu. The foods you get to eat in Annapurna base camp trek are: eggs, porridge, soup, pancakes, bread, and chapatti.  The different varieties of these foods can be made according to your preferences.

What will we get to eat for lunch on the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek?

Although breakfast is generally considered to be the most significant meal of the day, in Nepal things are different. However, "daal bhat" is the name of our nation's national dish. We usually eat dal (a split grain) and bhat (a rice grain) for lunch. As a result, eating locally gives you the energy you need to walk in the Himalayas for 5 to 6 hours each day.
As a result, dalbhat is made in every home in Nepal as the main dish and offered to visitors as lunch. The Nepalese dal bhat is a blend of vitamins, fiber, and nutrients that the body needs. Lentils (daal) and boiling rice (bhat) are the major components of dal bhat. It is served with a vegetable curry (tarkari), lettuce (saag), and a combination of spices (pickles). In addition, yogurt, cucumber, radish, carrots, and other appetite-stimulating vegetables are also included.
Additionally, there are other lunch options like pasta, pizza, burgers, and dumplings.

Conclusion

It is therefore recommended to eat the local cuisine if you're hiking in the Nepalese Himalayas. The food you consume while hiking is local and organic, grown in the fields of nearby villagers. Consequently, it is an excellent retreat to taste Nepal's regional food with its authentic taste. It's likely that the price of the dinner is fixed and that they won't charge more for the extra food. Instead, a massive percentage of international hikers also prefer it.
